Michigan Hockey Summer Curse Strikes Again

The list of players who have left Michigan's hockey team early for the NHL seems endless. You can now add forward Max Pacioretty to that list, after just one promising season playing on the Wolverines' top line. Via MGoBlog, Pacioretty has just signed a three-year deal with the Montreal Canadians, who took him in the first round, 22nd overall in the 2007 NHL draft.
Pacioretty was the top returning forward for a Michigan team that made it to the Frozen Four last season before falling to Notre Dame in the semifinals. He had 39 points in 37 games last season, and was named the CCHA Freshman of the Year.
Dammit.
